What started as friendship in Washington DC, evolved into a partnership built on resilience, adventure, and love. This is their journey…
Maca and Justin met in Washington, D.C., through mutual friends, and for years they kept bumping into each other at music shows. Those familiar faces slowly became familiar feelings. They remained friends for about three years—though Justin swears he was always trying to charm Maca—but his constant work travel made it hard for her to take him seriously.
Everything changed one night when they danced together for hours. That night was the beginning.
Not long after, the world shut down. COVID hit, and Justin ended up spending more and more time at Maca’s one-bedroom apartment until he was practically living there. Being quarantined together in such a small space could have broken many couples, but for them, it became proof of their strength. Their days indoors turned into long walks, which turned into hikes, which eventually became a shared passion for exploring nature together.
After three years as a couple, they felt ready for something bigger. They packed up their lives and moved across the country to California—an especially enormous leap for Maca, who had lived in the DMV since she was nine. But together, they embraced the unknown.
Over the years, they traveled the world and met incredible, like-minded friends who became part of their shared journey. During one of their adventures—a month spent wandering across Europe—Justin proposed to Maca on a cliff overlooking the water in Ibiza… but only after nearly sliding down the mountain first. Maca had been waiting for this moment for quite a while and was very excited to finally say yes to her dream partner.
Their relationship hasn’t been without challenges. From work hurdles to losing everything in the Palisades fire, life has tested them more than once. But each hardship has only made them more resilient and more deeply connected.
Now, after seven years together and nearly a decade of friendship, they are beyond excited to celebrate their wedding with you. Thank you for being part of their story. They can’t wait to welcome you to Wrightsville Beach—a place full of memories, and the perfect beginning to their next chapter.
